2) Please include in the application, a statement indicating why you want to go on the trip to Turkey.
3) A current transcript or degree evaluation ( a copy or web download is fine).
4) Download the faculty recommendation form and have an instructor or from SDSU or another college that has actually taught you in class fill it out. Return the form to Kevin Carter. A letter from an instructor with the same or similar information may also be sent via email to Professor Siprut. Non-students may have a letter of recommendation sent from an employer or professional reference.

http://www.ces.sdsu.edu/travel/1) After acceptance into the course, pay a $100.00 deposit (of the Trip Fee) to STA Travel to reserve your space.
2) Investigate Scholarships for study abroad. Students enrolled in six or more units during the summer may be elligable for financial aid. For further information, contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in SSW- 3605 or call 594-6323.
3) Get a Passport. Your passport must not expire within six months of departure.
You may obtain a tourist VISA at the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles but it is easier to obtain it at the Istanbul airport upon arrival.4) Read and submit to the College of Extended Studies the following three completed and signed travel documents. (You may type directly into the forms and then print them.)

6) Pay 50% of the Trip Fee to STA Travel (less $100. deposit) by March 30.
7) Obtain SDSU's Study Abroad Insurance, which meets compliance requirements of the CSU. (click this link)
Submit verification of insurance to the College of Extended Studies by April 30. (Note: STA Travel sells travel insurance that may satisfy this requirement)8) Copy the ID pages of your passport and submit them to the College of Extended Studies by April 30.
9) Submit two passport type photographs to the College of Extended Studies by April 30.
10) Download the appropriate Course Registration Form and submit it to Kevin Carter in the College of Extended Studies by April 30.

Double occupancy, $1410.00
Single occupancy, $1635.00This cost includes all lodging, most travel in Turkey and all breakfasts and some meals.
The cost of summer SDSU Tuition, airfare, visa, airport taxis, museum entrance fees, misc. expenses, and some lunch and dinner meals are not included.Payments for the Trip Fee will payable to

Trip Fee Cancellation Policy
The program Trip Fee is based on a minimum enrollment of 15 students and international currency exchange rates. Low enrollment could cause the Trip Fee to be raised. If the trip is cancelled due to insufficient enrollments, all monies collected for the trip fee will be returned. If currency exchange rates fluctuate, the trip fee may change. Participants who need to cancel must do so in writing to the College of Extended Studies' Travel Study Office. Cancellations are effective as per postmark date.
A cancellation fee will be deducted from the Trip Fee funds paid to STA travel as follows.
50% of the $100. deposit will be refunded if the trip is cancelled by March 15, 2007, otherwise, the deposit is non–refundable.
25% of fees paid, if the trip is cancelled by May 11, 2007.
35% of fees paid, if the trip is cancelled after May 11 and by May 18, 2007.
50% of fees paid, if the trip is cancelled after May 18 and by May 25, 2007.
100% of fees paid, if the trip is cancelled after May 25, 2007.Tuition and Registration Cancellation Policy

A cancellation fee will be deducted from the tuition funds paid to the College of Extended Studies, as follows:
20% of fees paid if the trip is cancelled by May 1, 2007.
40% of fees paid if the trip is cancelled after May 1 and by May 18, 2007.
60% of fees paid if the trip is cancelled after May 18 and by May 25, 2007.
100% of fees paid if the trip is cancelled after May 25, 2007.If the program is cancelled, the College of Extended Studies, SDSU, STA Travel, the instructor and the program coordinator, do not accept responsibility for any airfare cancellation fees incurred.
