Art 344a Design for the Internet Course Overview and Student Work Examples

The emphasis, is the "process" of creating effective, efficient, and dynamic solutions to Internet design.
Students will explore each stage of the process while developing his or her own working style and
problem solving approach. During this class you will learn: Fundamentals of HTML (Hyper Text
Mark-up Language), DHTML (Dynamic Hyper Text Mark-up Language), and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
development, media acquisition, digitizing media, and the preliminaries of adding interactivity.

Project One

Web page deconstruction.
In this phase we will look at
possible web page layout options and discuss the mechanics of "why" web designers have chosen a particular design template.
Personal Web page design.
HTML page, which represents the student for the duration of the class. The design should be simple and easy to update as class content develops.
